Children in England are being taught a new language in their classes at school, but they aren’t spoken. No, these children are learning how to code!
Programming is becoming more and more important in today’s society, and the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, realizes this. Curriculums in British public schools have kids learning to code at ages as young as 5 years old! We obviously live in a very technologically driven society, so it was just a matter of time before coding became a more widespread curriculum.
What are your thoughts on this? Should programming and coding be taught in early childhood education, or should we wait until they have a more fundamental understanding of their native language, and of technology? Let us know what you think in the comment section below!
